Fall Textile Drive

Clean out your closets and bring any and all unwanted textiles to our Spring Textile Drive! We can accept: all used and clean clothing including shoes, sneakers, and hats, as well as household items such as linens, towels, handbags, and belts. Carpeting, rugs, bath mats, comforters, pillows, large luggage and scraps of any kind cannot be accepted.

Fall E-Waste Drive

Join us in Duffy Square and bring all of your old electronic waste! We can accept: cell phones, copy machines, computer peripherals (mice, keyboards, wires, etc.), desktop computers, DVD players, fax machines, laptops, monitors, printers, and stereo equipment. Data on all hard drives will be destroyed by our recycler, ERI. iPods will be diverted to the Broadway Alzheimer’s iPod Drive. For safety, we cannot accept any hazardous waste, including household appliances, lamps or bulbs, items containing mercury, and any biohazardous materials. Help us keep e-waste out of the landfills!

Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction

Come to the dreamland for theatre fans! The 33rd Annual Flea Market, hosted by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, is back in and around Shubert Alley this September. Get the chance to find one-of-a-kind show biz treasures, including rare Broadway merchandise and show-props.You can even bid on a walk-on role in a show or other exclusive backstage opportunities. In addition to these exciting sale items, the famous autograph booth will be back, featuring actors from your favorite Broadway shows! Easter Bonnet Competition

We will be attending 33rd annual Easter Bonnet Competition, which will raise money in support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS’ amazing initiatives. This year the competition falls on our favorite holiday, Earth Day!

The Broadway Green Alliance and the other Broadway Cares affiliate organizations – Broadway Serves and R.Evolución Latina – will perform a number, featuring passionate activists representing each of the organization’s missions to empower change in their communities.

The bonnets will be designed by passionate BGA member, Joe Napolitano. And, in true BGA fashion, the bonnets will be completely upcycled! Learn more here.

Beware of the Plastics!

The BGA and the Broadway production of Mean Girls will be out in Times Square celebrating Earth Day! We're encouraging everyone to get rid of the plastics in their lives and to make a #GreenResolution.

Bring a piece of recyclable plastic, write down your #GreenResolution at our tent, and you'll be entered for a chance to win tickets to Mean Girls!

We'll be out in Duffy Square (46th Street between 7th Avenue and Broadway) from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. You won't want to miss this event - it'll be fetch.

New York City Theatre Greening Grants

We are pleased to announce the 2018 – 2019 New York City Theatre Greening Grants. Applications are due on Monday, January 14, 2019.

The BGA has committed $7,500 to this program, and will fund grants up to $750 for projects that will increase energy efficiency, conserve resources, or showcase a commitment to green practices in the New York City Off­-Broadway, Off-­Off-­Broadway, and Independent Theatre communities.
