At the beginning of the Fall Semester of 2022, Emory created the OU Green Alliance Toolkit that serves as a living document for the School of Drama, setting out their intentions of holistic sustainability, outlining the duties of a Green Captain, and offering optional suggestions for ways to make a difference.

She shared this toolkit with her faculty advisor, Reneè Brode and they spent the year workshopping it through OU's productions including Radium Girls and Like an Abortion. During these productions, they were able to discover the obstacles and opportunities afforded by green work in theatre. This work has culminated in creating a carbon-neutral production of Tick, Tick... Boom!. Throughout the rehearsal process, Emory hosted conversations to discuss the barriers, challenges, and successes of sustainability.

Outside of productions, Emory and volunteers from the School of Drama created a Green Board in the Fine Arts Center that promotes the conversation of sustainability throughout the entire Fine Arts Department. This board includes a list of upcoming outdoor events, a QR code to the OU Green Alliance Toolkit, information on how to improve your carbon footprint, and instructions on how to compost. Emory also spearheaded a plastic recycling drive at the School of Drama through Bags to Benches, a non-profit organization in Austin, Texas, that will turn their plastic waste into benches to be placed on the OU campus.
