Broadway Celebrates Earth Day is a free outdoor concert in Times Square that unites Broadway stars and young performers to spotlight climate action. Streamed globally, it marks the NYC Department of Transportation’s Car-Free Earth Day with music, community, and purpose.

The BGA hosts four reuse and recycling drives in Times Square each year: two for textiles, and two for e-waste. The drive was open to all shows, theatres, industry members, and fans as a free resource to responsibly recycle old electronics.

Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley brought their hit series to The Green Room 42 for a special, one-night-only Stars in the House for Climate Action, welcoming Broadway stars and sustainability champions for a night of music and action.  

Broadway Barks welcomed Broadway Green Captain, Sutton Foster, and a lineup of pets from local shelters. Through Towels for Toto, we collected linens and blankets to support animal care — in partnership with William Berloni Theatrical Animals and the Mayor's Alliance for NYC’s Animals.

Our community was invited to the NYC Global Climate Strike with Fridays for Future. We brought posters and marched alongside activists from around the world in demanding intersectional climate justice.

The Climate Museum Director, Miranda Massie, and Broadway Green Captain Alumni, Mara Davi, explored the role of the arts in confronting the urgency of the climate crisis.

Lights Up on Voter Mobilization was a virtual town hall where theatre artists and activists alike shared actionable steps to mobilize and register voters, broke down candidates’ positions on climate issues, and explored the intersection of environmental and racial justice issues.

Focused on the theme "Greening 101: Back to Green Basics," the fifth annual Off-Broadway Town Hall was hosted by the Off-Broadway Chapter of the Broadway Green Alliance and was open to anyone in the community.
