Reduce, Reuse, Reopen: Sustainable Solutions for Reopening Theatre

Our community has made great strides in sustainability over the last decade. As we consider how to reopen our theatres and return to work, we have the opportunity to further integrate sustainable solutions into our protocols. Watch for a look into the toolkit and discussion led by BGA Director, Molly Braverman, and some of the toolkit's authors, John Carrafa, Jim Joseph, and Austin Sora. The session will cover key action steps for producers and all theatre artists, and highlight how prioritizing health and safety does not need to come at the expense of the environment. In fact, the COVID-19 crisis shines a spotlight on the inextricable link between the health and safety of our people and our planet.

More About Our Video Learning Sessions

At the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic and Broadway Shutdown in 2020, the BGA sought to develop accessible programming that would keep our community connected to each other and the earth. Thus, the #GreenQuarantine Virtual Learning Series began and ended with a great run of 30 sessions led by theatre and environmental industry professionals. Now, you can explore 24 of the sessions on-demand and learn about the many ways to use your art and voice in the sustainable theatre movement!

These weekly webinars keep me active, engaged, and educated in these topics like I may never have been before. I feel more inspired and capable of making change not just in my life but also on a larger scale thanks to the information and organizations the Green Quarantines have provided.
